This anniversary issue is both a celebration of where we’ve been and a snapshot of where we are now. Across 50 pages, we’re looking back at the people who helped build MNSTRM while continuing to do exactly what we started doing in 2016: documenting the artists, shows, records, and moments that make us care about music in the first place. Inside, you’ll find ten years of MNSTRM history alongside new concert photography, reviews, editorials, and coverage of My Chemical Romance, Melanie Martinez, American Football, Brothers Osborne, The Black Keys, Hatebreed, Summer School Tour, Rockstar Energy Open, and more.
There have been hundreds of shows, thousands of photographs, countless late nights, more deadlines than we’d like to remember, and an entire community of contributors who have left their fingerprints on these pages. Some stayed for years. Some were here for a single story. All of them became part of what MNSTRM is.
What started as a small independent music publication in 2016 somehow became an archive of ten years of music, friendships, photo pits, venues, artists, and memories.
We never needed to become the biggest publication in the room. We just wanted to make something we cared about and give people a place to tell stories about the music they cared about, too.
Ten years later, we’re still doing it. Still independent. Still making magazines. Still here.
