FREELANCE SUBMISSIONS
MNSTRM Media has always been built by the people who live and breathe the music scene. Since 2016, our mission has been to document alternative music and culture through authentic perspectives — from the photographers in the pit to the writers telling the stories that often go unheard. Over the years, we’ve published work from contributors across the country, covering everything from underground shows and personal essays to major festivals and in-depth industry editorials.
We’re opening submissions for freelance contributors who want to collaborate with us on future issues and online features. This includes live photo galleries, editorials, interviews, personal essays, and other original work that aligns with MNSTRM’s focus on alternative and independent music. Whether you’ve been working professionally for years or are just starting to build your portfolio, we’re interested in hearing from voices that bring honesty, clarity, and a genuine point of view.
Use the submission form below to introduce yourself and share your work. Please include relevant links, writing samples or photo galleries, and any important context about your submission — such as upcoming shows you’d like to cover, artists you’re interested in interviewing, or editorial concepts you want to pitch. The more information you can provide, the better we can understand how your work might fit into our coverage.
Submissions are reviewed regularly by our editorial team. While we can’t accept or respond to every piece, we give each submission thoughtful consideration. Accepted work may be featured online, in print, or both, depending on fit and timing. This page is the best way to get your work in front of our team for freelance opportunities, whether it’s for a one-time collaboration or ongoing contributions.
If you’re ready to share your perspective and help us continue documenting this scene with care and intention, we’d love to see what you’re working on.
